Protection in the pulp and paper industries

As a productive activity still expanding in Brazil, the pulp and paper industry is among the 10 largest in our country. Obtained from wood, cellulose fiber is the most important raw material for the manufacture of paper and is acquired through chemical and mechanical processes carried out in factories. There are several methods used for the preparation of cellulose pulp and the most common ones regard pressure, temperatures above 150 º C, in addition to chlorine, caustic soda and other chemical substances.

Factory workers who work in such an industrial segment and handle the machinery are exposed to the risk of accidents at work and must be properly protected. Among the preventive measures, the main one is the use of specific personal protective clothing and equipment, such as gloves, clothing, face shields, respiratory protection and rubber boots.

Being aware of the risks in this area, JGB develops technologies and provides specialized support to meet the specific needs of these users.

In this post, you will know all the details about the brand.

Find out more about our main technologies for this industry

Texíon® G jacket for Smelt spatter

Texíon® G gives the equipment an excellent thermal capacity, which absorbs calories with difficulty and releases it quickly, resisting up to 800 ºC when exposed to direct flames for up to a time span of 5 minutes. It equally provides excellent protection against flames and splashes of molten metals. In the pulp and paper industry this one is ideal for activities that need protection from smelt splashes.

Set in Texíon® W for black, white and green liquor

Texíon® W technology in one layer which offers excellent protection against chemical hazards type (PB) 6, which similarly make the material ideal for use in areas that might present risks of white, black or green liquor, owing to the liquid repellency characteristics of the fabric itself. The products also have protection for electric arc, thermal risks and welding.

Set in Texíon® L

Texíon® L technology is also ideal for the pulp and paper industry, its fibers blend gives the fabric breathability and comfort. In addition, it offers protection for welding and thermal risks, with excellent results for aluminum spatter.

Air Sent for Heat (Furnace Maintenance)

Overalls and hoods made of Texíon® G, developed for areas where intense heat is an obstacle to the performance of the activity. It has an air-mandate system which distributes air throughout the body, providing comfort to the user and allowing the user to stay longer while performing their activities in an overheated environment. The air is channeled through a hose connected to the waist with a quick coupling. It is necessary to use a filter to transform the compressed air into breathable air, once it circulates inside the hood. JGB recommends using the MSA portable filter.

We, at JGB, have a specialized technical team in identifying the ideal protection for the risk of each worker. A pioneer for more than 3 decades in the area of ??work safety, JGB develops Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) and is a great reference in reducing risks for workers in diversified industrial segments. Our PPE are developed according to need as well as they have high quality technology and are designed to protect and provide comfort to the user. Find out more about that underneath!
